While becoming an expecting mother is exciting, the journey is not without challenges and may include feelings of doubt, fear, uncertainty, and isolation. Expecting mothers often fear voicing their needs or reaching out for help because they fear burdening those around them or being misunderstood.
The Black Women's Pregnancy Discussion & Support Group provides a safe space for expecting moms to process their individual feelings about their pregnancy, learn coping skills and connect with other expecting moms who are having similar experiences.
Benefits

Research shows that discussion groups for expecting moms can enhance their sense of well-being by offering a comforting and consoling safe space for women to express and explore their hopes, dreams, needs, and concerns. The sense of community and connection experienced in the discussion group decreases stress, anxiety, and feelings of isolation. Women gain a sense of belonging, share, and learn from one another.
What to Expect

Our pregnancy discussion groups are comprised of women who are looking to meet other women to discuss and share their experiences, feelings, and concerns around pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.
We strive to provide a judgment-free, nurturing, and supportive community. Each group focuses on a weekly theme designed to provide encouragement and insight.
